Stop Monitoring or Delete a Vendor

If your vendor relationship changes, you can stop monitoring that vendor within UpGuard Vendor Risk. You will stop receiving updates about their security posture in UpGuard, and you will no longer be able to request remediation from the vendor on identified risks, send the vendor security questionnaires, or receive updates about changes to the vendor's security posture.

When you stop monitoring a vendor, it moves to the Not monitored tab of the Vendors page. It keeps its tier, labels, portfolios, custom attributes, contacts, and lifecycle stage, and no longer uses a monitoring slot. To remove a vendor from your vendor list entirely, delete it instead. Learn more in Vendor Risk: Non-Monitored Vendors.

🎵 You'll be unable to delete a vendor if you have open questionnaires or relationship questionnaires with that vendor. Archive any questionnaires before proceeding with this guide. If you need to monitor this vendor again in the future, you will still have access to completed questionnaire data.

Stop monitoring a vendor

1. Click the Vendor Risk icon in UpGuard's left-hand navigation panel.

2. Click Vendors.

3. Click the Monitored tab.

4. Search for the vendor by name or URL.

5. Click the three dots at the end of the vendor's row.

6. Click Stop monitoring.

7. Click Turn monitoring off.

The vendor moves to the Not monitored tab, and your monitored vendor count drops by one. To stop monitoring several vendors at once, select the checkbox next to each vendor and click Stop monitoring.

🎵 Stopping monitoring doesn't use a change, and you can monitor the vendor again within 12 months without using one. See Vendor Risk: Monitoring Slots and Change Limit.
