How to set up templates to customize your email notifications from the UpGuard platform

Templates let administrators set up templates within the UpGuard platform for:

This allows organizations to customise their notifications from the UpGuard platform and save time and achieve consistency by setting up templates for re-use.

To set up your first template, head to Settings by clicking on Settings in the sidebar.

Now you’re in Settings, you’ll see a series of tabs that run along the top of your screen. Click on Templates.

From Templates, you’ll be able to select the relevant tab to set a template for remediation requests,, risk assessments, questionnaires, relationship questionnaires, and identity breach notifications, additional evidence requests and generated reports.

How to set your remediation request template

Our remediation request template lets you set a default title and message for any internal or vendor remediation requests you send through the UpGuard platform.

The title is plain text and allows you to pre-fill the vendor’s name or your account name using merge tags. In contrast, the default message supports bold or italicized text, unordered or ordered lists, and two merge tags: vendor or account name.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.

Once saved, your template will be available for use in any new remediation requests. The text will also appear in the notification email and as a message inside the UpGuard platform. Learn more about internal remediation requests here and vendor remediation requests here.

How to set your risk assessment template

Our risk assessment template lets you set the default text for the 4 commentary fields (Introduction, Vendor Background, Assessment Findings and Conclusion) on any new risk assessments conducted on the UpGuard platform.

The risk assessment commentary supports bold or italicized text and as unordered or ordered lists. It also supports several merge tags, including vendor name, account name, scores, tiers, custom attributes and labels.

Edit the commentary to fit your needs then click Save changes.

Once saved, your template will be available for use in any new risk assessments created. Learn more about our risk assessment feature here.

How to set your questionnaire template

Our questionnaire template lets you set a default title and message for any questionnaires you send through the UpGuard platform.

The title is plain text and allows you to pre-fill the vendor’s name, your account name, or questionnaire type using merge tags. In contrast, the default message supports bold or italicized text, unordered or ordered lists, and three merge tags: vendor name, account name, and questionnaire type.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.

Once saved your template will be available in any new security questionnaires you send. The text will also appear in the notification email and as a message inside the UpGuard platform. Learn how to send a security questionnaire here.

How to set your relationship questionnaire notification template

Our relationship questionnaire notification template lets you set the default subject and message on any new identity breach notifications sent through the UpGuard platform.

The default message supports bold or italicized text, unordered or ordered lists, and two merge tags: vendor name and account name.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.

Once saved your template will be available for any new relationship questionnaire notification you send. The text will also appear in the notification email.

How to set your identity breach notification template

Our identity breach notification template lets you set the email subject and email body on any new identity breach notifications sent through the UpGuard platform.

The subject is plain text and allows you to pre-fill the breach name or your account name using merge tags. In contrast, the default message supports bold or italicized text, unordered or ordered lists, and two merge tags: breach name and account name.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.

Once saved your template will be available for any new identity breach notification you send. The text will also appear in the notification email. Learn how to send an identity breach notification here.

How to set your Additional Evidence request template

Our Additional Evidence request template lets you set the email subject and email body on any new Additional Evidence request notifications sent through the UpGuard platform.

The subject is plain text and allows you to pre-fill the vendor name or your account name using merge tags. In contrast, the default message supports bold or italicized text, unordered or ordered lists, and three merge tags: vendor name, account name and requested document types.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.

Edit the title and/or message to fit your needs then scroll down and click Save changes.
