Our BreachSight Report feature generates a downloadable PDF that summarizes the security posture of your organization. The report is designed to be shared with internal stakeholders who may not be familiar with UpGuard. The language is simple, easy-to-understand, and suitable for non-technical audiences.

It can be configured to include automated scanning results, competitor analysis, geolocation data, and underlying risk details.

To aid in remediation efforts, the report unpacks your security posture into five categories: website security, network security, brand & reputation risk, email security, and phishing & malware.

Each category outlines the underlying risks, impacted domains, and provides remediation advice with the most severe risks of each category appearing first.

Generating a report on your own organization (BreachSight Report)

You can generate a BreachSight report in 2 ways:

Generate a BreachSight Report from the Reports Library

Navigate to the Library within the Reports section and select from the available BreachSight reports: BreachSight Summary Report and BreachSight Detailed report.

For each report you can choose quick generate which pre-selects report content and sections, or Customise and generate if you want to customise and curate your report content.

If you select customise and generate, firstly you will be able to select what type of information you want to include in your report, based on risk profile information in the UpGuard platform.

You can also edit the report introduction and add a custom conclusion to capture your recommendations.

Next you can select which domain portfolios you want to include in your report

You can then select from standard frequency and delivery options for the report, and then generate the report.

From the Report Library you can also create a BreachSight custom report template which can be used by you and others in your organization in the case that you have a set report format that you want to re-use repeatedly over time. To learn more see How to Create a custom report template.

Generating a BreachSight report from with BreachSight

Select the Generate report button when you are viewing any page within BreachSight.

You can then select from BreachSight Summary, BreachSight Detailed or BreachSight Subsidiaries report and follow the configuration prompts as per generating a report from the reporting library (described above).

How to Download your BreachSight reports

Like all reports and exports in the UpGuard platform, your report will be made available for download via our Generated reports page.

Understanding the BreachSight report options

There are 3 BreachSight reports with varying information and level of detail, designed to suit different function and suitable for different stakeholders:

  • BreachSight Summary Report - provides a high-level overview of your organisation's security posture including category score breakdowns, overall risk counts, competitor analysis and a summary of your remediation activity.

  • BreachSight Detailed Report - includes additional detail including list of risks and remediation recommendations, historical risk rating by category, geolocation information and Incidents and News.

  • BreachSight Subsidiaries report (available to organizations with Subsidiaries enabled) - allows you to include rating breakdown and risk information from your Subsidiary organizations.

Keep in mind that by selecting customise and generate, you are able to curate the reporting content in any of these reports to meet your specific needs, as described earlier in this article.
