You can proactively communicate your security posture and related documentation with your organization's current and prospective customers with a Shared Profile in UpGuard.

In this guide, you will create and publish a Shared Profile for your organization. You will also generate a link to your Shared Profile that you can add to your website and email signature.

Creating and publishing your Shared Profile

To publish your Shared Profile, navigate to My Shared Profile using the sidebar navigation menu. If you cannot see My Shared Profile in the navigation, you may not have the required user permissions. Contact your organization's admin user to change these permissions.

If you have not yet started to create your Shared Profile, you can complete your Shared Profile in five short tasks.

As you complete each step, the progress bar will update and the pending tasks will be marked as completed. You also have the option to add additional materials beyond the initial setup. We recommend adding previously completed questionnaires, compliance certifications, and business-specific materials like links to your public trust and security pages, which will help you streamline assessments by providing relevant, up-to-date materials.

Once you are satisfied with the information provided, press Publish Shared Profile to make your organization's Shared Profile available.

When you publish your Shared Profile, you can choose to enable access protection and non-disclosure agreement (NDA) protection. These features ensure optimal privacy according to your business needs. You can still accept or deny requests to access your Shared Profile with these protections, and you can revoke access at any time.

Adding your Shared Profile to your website

With your Shared Profile live, you can now proactively share security-related information with current and prospective business partners. Communicating your security posture and related documentation is a great way to build trust with prospects.

To generate a direct link to your Shared Profile, press the Share button in the upper corner. You can then select the method you prefer for sharing your Shared Profile.

There are three options for sharing the profile:

  • Link to your profile: You can embed a link to your public profile on your website or in your email signature.

  • Share your rating: You can embed your security rating as a badge on your website.

  • Share by email: You can invite people to access your Shared Profile by email.

The link to your Shared Profile is a public link that you can share with current and prospective customers. They will be able to view your Shared Profile, even if they are not current UpGuard users. If you frequently receive requests for questionnaires and other documentation, you can use the Shared Profile in UpGuard to provide that information while controlling who has access to it.

Note: If you have enabled access protection for your Shared Profile, visitors will need to request access and have it approved before they can access your documents. You will receive an email when someone requests access. If you have enabled NDA protection, visitors will need to agree to the terms of your NDA before gaining access.

You can view your public profile with the View public profile button or by visiting the link provided.
